AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the application of video as a method of instruction and determine procedures to develop an instructional videotape for construction layout. Problems for this study were the lack of prior examples of instructional videotape programs on construction layout and research studies dealing with the use of videotape as a method of instruction for construction education. Procedures to develop an instructional videotape from preproduction to production were investigated. The procedures congregated were used as a basis in developing the instructional layout videotape. After completing the prototype wall layout videotape, support materials were developed to aid in its application into construction education.
