Biography Dr. Barbara B. Meyer is Assistant Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at Illinois State University. She received her doctorate in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership, as well as her Masters of Arts in Teaching, from University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. Her undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Spanish from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Before joining Illinois State University, Dr. Meyer was a Spanish Teacher with Memphis City Schools in Memphis, Tennessee and an adjunct professor at University of Memphis. Her research interests revolve around secondary teacher education. She joined the faculty at Illinois State University in August of 2001. Dr. Meyer served as LiveText Coordinator for Teacher Education 2004-2006. She has served as Coordinator of Secondary Teacher Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and became the Assistant Chair of the Department in 2008.
