Financial Aid and Student Employment
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University is committed to preparing its students to become teachers, and to remaining informed of current trends in the field of education. To accomplish these goals, the department is currently associated with two organizations: Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Suport Consortium (ITASC) and Illinois Geographic Alliance (IGA). These organizations are committed to improving the quality of teachers.
Linking professional associations, the university (particularly the College of Education), and schools is a significant strategy for realizing the college's mission: "The College of Education will provide state and national leadership in teacher and administrator education, educational research, and educational policy."
The collaborative relationship between the College of Education and each professional association is unique, reflecting the mission of each association. Even so, these relationships have one thing in common: a focus on improving the quality of teaching, learning and leadership in our schools and universities. Shared activities include but are not limited to collaborative conferences, consulting, board and advisory committee membership, class presentations, student association support and service to student research, theses, and dissertations.
