Scholarships

A number of need-based and non-need-based scholarships are available. The deadline to apply for 2008 scholarships has passed. (It was March 31.)

Student Worker Positions (Employment for Undergraduate Students)

There is an opening for undergraduate student worker position starting the summer 2008 semester and beyond. Qualifying applicants must be registered for the summer semester. Apply online at Human Resources. All undergraduate students, even those not with an education major, may apply to be a student worker in the department's main office. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction employs six student workers in the fall and spring semester, usually one in the summer semester.

Departmental Graduate Tuition Waivers

Before applying, a student must already have been admitted into a Department of Curriculum and Instruction graduate program and registered for courses in the semester for which they are applying. (A student-at-large may not apply or qualify.) Students admitted into any of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction graduate program may apply for the Graduate Tuition Waiver for any semester in which they are taking a course.

The deadline is the prior to break for fall and spring semesters; the deadline for summer is the end of the second week of classes.

Funds are limited, and no applicant is guaranteed getting this waiver type. An applicant will be contacted by email when their application is received. Applicants should pay their bills for courses as if no waivers are expected. If the waiver is granted after the student pays their account resulting in a credit, the University will issue a refund check. The deadline to file an application is in the mid-semester for which the student is applying. All applications are processed mid-to-late semester. Students typically are awarded half the amount they seek although the actual amount varies. For questions, email sffinle@ilstu.edu or call (309) 438-5425 or (309) 438-5461.

Graduate Assistantships (Employment for Graduate Students)

A limited number of graduate assistantship positions are available every semester in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Graduate assistants are eligible for a tuition fellowship during the semester that they hold an appointment. Check for open Graduate Assistantship positions.
