Eligibility guidelines
To be considered for a scholarship through the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the following guidelines must be met:
Must major in a Department of Curriculum and Instruction program at Illinois State University.
Submit a completed application.
If the scholarship requires you to be in a certain grade level (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior), please use the grade level you will be at the end of the spring semester.
Have letters of recommendation submitted on behalf of you for the following scholarships:
Lillian Scholljegerdes Davies Scholarship: A recommendation by a pre-student teaching supervisor for reading and/or language arts (when possible) must be e-mailed to

If you apply for a need-based scholarship, your financial record in the ISU Financial Aid Office will be checked. To be eligible for consideration for financial aid at Illinois State University, you must have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current year.

The application is closed. Scholarship applications are accepted March 1-31 of each year.
Award recipients will be announced in May. Awardees will be notified by mail. An awards ceremony will take place in the Fall during Family Day Weekend.
