Association for Childhood Education, International (ACEI)

ACEI is a professional organization for those involved in the education of children from infancy through early adolescence. Members of ACEI share a dual commitment to the fulfillment of every child’s potential and to the professional development of the classroom teacher. Open to all students interested in children from infancy through early adolescence.

Collegiate Middle Level Association (CMLA)

The Collegiate Middle Level Association is an organization for junior high/middle school program majors, or anyone interested in teaching in the middle grades. Monthly meetings are held where a variety of speakers present information on topics of interest to future middle level educators. Membership is open to all ISU students. The Collegiate Middle Level Association is an affiliation of the Association of Illinois Middle Schools. Also at www.nmsa.org/about/cmla.htm

Kappa Delta Epsilon (KDE)

KDE is a national education fraternity that requires a 3.0 GPA for honorary membership. KDE promotes the cause of education by fostering a spirit of fellowship, high standards of scholastic attainment, and professional ideals among its members. ISU was one of the founding chapters in 1933.

Kappa Delta Pi (KDP)

Kappa Delta Pi is an honorary society in education requiring that members have a 3.4 GPA for undergraduate students and a 3.6 GPA for graduate students. ISU's KDP was the Twelfth chapter to be established by Professor Schroeder (Schroeder Hall is named after him) and Stella Henderson (each spring a monetary award is given in her honor to an education major) on March 4, 1922.

Retention Program for Culturally Diverse Students is a program to facilitate the socialization of culturally diverse students in education to the University and to support their academic progress through graduation.

Student Association for Bilingual Education (SABE)

Student Association for Bilingual Education provides dual language teacher education students with a social and academic student organization that will provide understanding of the bilingual educator and a sounding board in matters affecting their profession.

Student Early Childhood Education Organization (SECEO)

Student Early Childhood Education Organization's (SECEO) membership is open to early childhood majors either currently enrolled in or preparing to enroll in CORE classes.

Student Education Association (SEA)
The purpose of the Student Education Association is to develop an understanding of the education profession in prospective educators. It provides for a united student voice in matters affecting their profession. It aims to influence the conditions under which prospective educators are prepared and to advance the interest and welfare of students preparing for careers in education.
