Dr. Erika Hunt serves as the Project Director for the Illinois State Action for Education Leadership Project (IL-SAELP). Dr. Hunt brings experience in state policy as a staff member for former Governor Jim Edgar and at the Illinois Board for Higher Education, as well as at two public universities in Illinois. Hunt received her doctorate in 2004 in higher education policy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she specialized in P-16 education policy reform. She has published articles in both the areas of P-16 education reform and school leadership. In addition to her experience in education, Dr. Hunt and her husband own and manage rental properties in Bloomington, Illinois and are investing in an early learning center serving infants through pre-school.
