The Leadership Academy happened June 20-22, 2005 at Illinois State University.

On Monday, February 7th, 2005, IL-SAELP hosted an all-day assessment exercise that examined the Illinois Administrators Academy, as well as a conditions assessment on statewide policies and practices that negatively and positively impact school leadership. An April, 2005 conference on higher education finance engaged state and national leaders, practitioners, and academicians on higher education finance policy issues. The Center published a Higher Education Finance Paper (pdf) resulting from proceedings at the finance symposium and through the analysis of Grapevine data.
Based on the results of the symposium, Center staff engaged in discussions with the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) and National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs (NASSGAP) to study the impact of national recessions on higher education. These discussions resulted in a proposal to the Lumina Foundation submitted by the Center, SHEEO, and NASSGAP (Recession, Retrenchment, and Recovery).
The Illinois Women Administrators hosted a wine reception for the release of "Leaders Who Dare" by Linda Lyman, Dianne Ashby, and Jenny Tripses on September 25, 2005, from 4pm--6pm.
On December 5 and 6, 2004, the Leadership and Diversity Conference promoted a statewide dialogue and sharing of insights from practitioners and researchers about best leadership practices to promote learning in diverse environments. The conference will also focus on the development of leadership skills that build inclusive learning communities where diversity is valued, respected, and promoted.
