Manuscript Guidelines

  1. Manuscripts are judged by their contribution to the understanding of educational leadership and policy issues.
  2. Manuscripts must be previously unpublished, not under consideration elsewhere, and should be prepared according to the style recommendations in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th Ed. (2001).
  3. Manuscripts of 4000-5000 words (plus abstract) should be submitted in triplicate. All copies should have no author identification.
  4. Manuscripts should include a cover sheet with each author’s current title, position, and institutional affiliation and the complete mailing address, phone, fax, and/or e-mail address of each of the authors.
  5. Upon receipt, the contact author will receive notification. Each acceptable manuscript will ordinarily be reviewed by three independent reviewers. The blind review process normally takes ten to twelve weeks (excluding summer).
  6. If it is accepted for publication, authors will be asked to send an IBM-compatible electronic document as well as a printed copy of the manuscript.
  7. Authors may be requested to make revisions prior to final acceptance. The Editor reserves the right to make editorial changes that do not materially affect the meaning of the text. Authors will receive a final copy to proof and approve.
  8. Manuscripts and correspondence should be addressed to the Managing Editor, Planning and Changing, Illinois State University, Department of Educational Administration and Foundations, Campus Box 5900, Normal, IL 61790-5900. (Tele: 309/438-2399; Fax: 309/438-8683)
