Details for Interviewing:

Dress for Thursday will be casual. 

Dress Friday (all sessions) will be business attire (interview clothing).

Most interviews are 30 minutes long (although some departments schedule longer or have you scheduled for more than one interview so be sure to check with employers).

Process for applying for positions:

1. Apply online at the ISU Human Resources website.

2. The office will contact you if the department is interested in offering you an interview during GRAD.

NOTE: There may be positions that open right before GRAD that do not require advance application in order for you to acquire an interview.  Those positions will be posted during registration and at the evening orientation session.

Items to think about before interviewing for positions:

What are your interests? 
What assistantship will help you in your chosen field of study?
What are your strengths, weaknesses, skills, and abilities?
What skills have you gained in your undergrad activities? 
What can you contribute to a potential employer?
What are your selling points?
What are areas of improvement? 

Thinking about all of these things will help you put together a resume that makes you look like the most qualified candidate.
