As you may be aware, Illinois State University has adopted Microsoft Outlook/Exchange as the campus calendaring solution. Many College of Education faculty/staff are already using this service for both Calendaring and E-mail. In an attempt to maintain a professional and consistent service, COE will be upgrading its Exchange Server this Fall. The majority of our clients will not notice a change in service, however, to assist with the transition we will be providing a collection of documentation to assist our users in understanding the changes taking place.
Due to the massive amount of mail that is transferred throughout the University during the course of a business day, and considering the amount of users that this system will service, we are forced to limit the amount of space each user has available on the server. This is to better accommodate our entire user community. In preparation for this change, we are requesting that you read the following information:
IMPORTANT: On November 1, 2007, you will NO longer be able to send or receive e-mail if you are over the 800,000 KB limit.
Determine your mailbox size: Outlook users | Entourage users
When your mailbox has exceeded the size limit, you will receive an automated message from the Exchange System Administrator. Learn how to reduce the size of your mailbox.
Be proactive in managing the size of your mailbox and set Outlook to automatically archive your email. Learn how to set up the archiving feature.
