This is the troop from the summer of 98.

We spent three days learning about the Illinois & Michigan Canal from a number of very knowledgeable experts.

Everyone participated in hands-on lessons about the canal.

Day trips were taken to Illinois & Michigan Canal sites to gain first hand experience.

The agenda for the three day workshop is on the following two pages. It should give you a better feel for the total experience.

This Virtual Workshop cannot duplicate the spirit and camaraderie of the group, but it will provide you with some of the materials participants received.

It will also provide you with something the participants did not receive---valuable photographs you can access to make your lessons on the Illinois & Michigan Canal more meaningful for your students.
