Jill Freund Thomas, M.A. Jill Freund Thomas is the Staff Cartographer, Manager of Cartographic Services laboratory, Lecturer in Geography, and Advisor for the Minor in Tourism Studies at Illinois State University. She has been creating graphics and maps for the Geography and Social Studies Standards and Assessments since 1994. Other published works are included in the Illinois History Teacher Magazine, Material Culture, and the Annals. She has been the Advisor for the Alpha Chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon, Geography Honorary Fraternity for the past ten years. She’s in her eighth year as Editor of the Illinois Geographical Society Bulletin, and received the IGS Distinguished Geographer of the Year award for 1997.
