Fredrick H. Walk, M.S. Ed. Fred Walk teaches geography, economics and U.S. History while serving as the Social Studies Department Building Chairman at Normal Community High School in Normal, Illinois. He has directed summer institutes for the Illinois Geographic Alliance and is an experienced workshop presenter. Fred was the 1992 recipient of the Illinois Geographical Society’s Distinguished Geographic Educator award. He has been on the faculty of the National Geographic Society’s Summer Geography and Instructional Leadership Institutes in Washington, D.C. He has been awarded the Distinguished Teaching award from the National Council for Geographic Education. Fred has consulted for the Illinois Goals Assessment Program and has published articles in the National Council for Geographic Education’s Journal of Geography. Fred was a secondary writer for the National Geography Standards Project. He was awarded the “Those Who Excel” Award of Merit during the 1991-92 school year by the Illinois State Board of Education. |
