Funding Available - First-Time State Funding for TAKE ONE!
 

Take One!(r) is a unique offering from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards(r) that provides a standards-based approach for improving teaching practice and links student learning to effective instruction. Teachers prepare and submit one pre-selected video portfolio entry from any of the current certificate areas of National Board Certification. A teacher can later transfer the score if he or she pursues National Board candidacy. Participants can access the Take One! application by going to:

Illinois State Board of Education will pay the $395 Take One! fee if
applicants follow the directions below:



* Access the Take One! Application

* Choose the option to not pay at this time

* Upon completion, print the confirmation page that includes the
Take One! ID number

* Print your name on the confirmation page

* Fax the confirmation page to: National Board Resource Center
at Illinois State University <http://www.coe.ilstu.edu/ilnbpts>

The National Board Resource Center at Illinois State University will
complete a transmittal so Illinois State Board of Education can transfer
funds directly to the National Board on your behalf
