It Starts With Education

Although I'm retired now, it does not seem that long ago that I was walking to class and back again to Wilkins Hall. My major was Jr. High Education and I was beginning to think about my senior year, student teaching and getting all my paper work in order to find a teaching job.

I went on to student teach in Peoria, completed my program and graduated in 1973. My education did not stop there, as I continued at Illinois State completing a master's degree program in counseling and a variety of special education classes.

The teachers I knew at ISU have moved on or retired, but I continue to recommend Illinois State, especially to prospective teachers. The college provides an excellent opportunity to be the very best at what you choose to do. For me, it was teaching and working as an educator. Keep up the good work at ISU — and have many more birthdays!
