(November 8, 2006) Sixty two education students were awarded scholarships and awards during the College of Education Family Weekend 2006 Scholarships and Awards Ceremony. Over 160 family, friends, faculty, and staff attended the Saturday morning breakfast at the Bone Student Center.
Dean Deborah Curtis welcomed the group and opening remarks were made by Provost John Presley. Director of Development Gail Lamb introduced the donors that were able to be present, including Dr. Wallace Anderson, Lorayne Anderson Russo, Larry and Barbara Efaw, Dr. David and Dana Efaw and Catya, Carol Glynn, and Joe Mungo.
Dean Curtis and Chair of the College of Education Scholarships and Awards Committee and Assistant Professor of Special Education Julia Stoner presented the scholarships and awards for the College of Education Dean's Office. The recipients and the scholarships they won include:

Following the presentation, Dean Curtis closed the ceremony by congratulating the recipients and sharing that she is "delighted to think about these fine, talented young people going into the profession of teaching."
