(November 10, 2006) The ISU Council for Teacher Education invites all undergraduate students at Illinois State University to compete in its tenth annual juried Academic Scholarship Competition. Entries may be in essay, artistic expression, or multimedia format. In conjunction with ISU’s Sesquicentennial, this year’s theme for the competition is Teachers: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. The intent of the competition is to encourage future teachers to thoughtfully reflect on the meaning, importance, and implications of teachers in the past, in today’s schools, and in the future.
Prizes may be awarded to one to four entries with a total of $3,000 available for awards.
The deadline for submission is January 18, 2007. Winners will be announced at the Founder’s Day Ceremony in the Bone Student Center on Thursday, February 15, 2007.
