(September 25, 2007) Amanda Schacht, a graduate of School District U-46 schools, ISU Elementary Bilingual Bicultural Education alumna, and new teacher at Laurel Hill Elementary School, has known since sixth-grade that she wanted to teach. She credits the phenomenal teaching staff at U-46 for showing her what a career in education could be.
