Mihesuah will present her lecture, "Indigenous Food as Empowerment," on November 5 at 7:00 p.m. in Old Main Room, Bone Student Center. Mihesuah will discuss how traditional ways of eating can lead to a healthier lifestyle and empower indigenous cultures.

Dr. Wyatt is a clinical psychologist, sex therapist and professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. Her research examines the consensual and abusive sexual relationships of women and men, the effects of these experiences on their psychological well-being, and the cultural context of risks for sexually-transmitted diseases and HIV. She has conducted national and international research since 1980, funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health, the National Institute of Drug Abuse, state and private foundations.

“The Unnatural and Accidental Women” was inspired by a series of murders that took place in the “Skid Row” area of Vancouver between 1965 and 1987.
