Water is a very important part of our lives.  In our world, water can be found in three forms.  Does anyone know what the three forms are called?  We'll give you a clue.  What are these three things?

If you said water, ice and steam, you're RIGHT!  So, ice and steam are really WATER!  Did you know that before?  How can this be

      Ice is solid water.

Steam, or water vapor, is water in gas form.

What we call water is the liquid form.

Can you tell us what a solid, a liquid, and a gas are?

Solid  stays the same shape
Liquid flows and takes the shape of the container
Gas  water that has been heated to its boiling point

Can you name some things that are made of solid water?

Can you list some things that are liquid water?

Can you name some things we see that are made of water vapor?

Now, can you think of ways we use solid water, liquid water, and water vapor?

Congratulations!  You are now experts on the three forms of water and how we use them!
