Clinical Experiences and Certification Processes (CECP)

The Office of Clinical Experiences and Certification Processes (CECP) is responsible for monitoring performance based assessments (PBA) for teacher education students and for coordinating the clinical experience placements of the state-approved entitlement programs at Illinois State University.  This includes maintaining records of student assignments in schools, making appropriate pre-student teaching placements, monitoring the 100 clock hour clinical experience requirement, documenting all clinical experiences, processing stipends for cooperating teachers, issuing tuition waivers to eligible schools and teachers and arranging student placements in cooperation with major departments across campus.

Certification processes of the office are directed toward evaluation of credentials for graduate students seeking teaching, school service personnel, and administrative endorsements. Verification letters are written for program completion, coursework and clinical experiences completed at Illinois State University. Final certification notification is electronically transmitted to the Illinois State Board of Education upon the completion of programs.
