The goal of the Urban Teacher Preparation initiative is to prepare highly qualified teachers for urban schools by changing teacher preparation programming for traditional students. Membership on the steering committee is open to anyone interested in this work.
(September 2006) The materials in this packet present information on the current status of how ISU prepares teacher candidates for positions in urban schools. The information is designed to be a springboard to further development of teacher education programs at ISU to better prepare teachers for these settings.
More information on the Urban Teacher Preparation initiative, including ways to get involved, can be found at the Chicago Teacher Education Pipeline Web site.
